Gary Grainger

Gary Grainger quietly and safely caught his train to the next life's station on 26th November 2022 at Providence Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City. His loving partner for 24 years and spouse for 11 years Frederic R Merchant (Canby, Oregon) was by his side waving goodbye. Gary was born 9 April 1945 in Toronto, Canada to his birth mother Alice Marie Mouery (1922-2008). He was adopted by Hector Goulding and Grace Hanna Grainger in 1948. Gary was a railroad man for 32 years, working first for Canadian National and later VIA Rail Canada as a passenger & Tours Reservations Manager. After retirement, Gary continued to volunteer with American Red Cross and United States Organization in South Korea, while his husband worked for the US Military. After Fred retired, many wonderful adventures were had cruising and exploring the Northwest in their motorhome. He is survived by his husband Frederic, and his many birth family cousins, with whom he had recently reconnected. At this time, no formal service has been planned.
