William H. Hyden MD

Dr. Hyden passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 7, 2014. He was 98 years of age. A graduate of The University of Kentucky and The University of Louisville Medical School, he completed his surgical residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and then served one year on staff at the Clinic. Dr. Hyde was one of the first surgeons to establish a practice in Cocoa Beach and served as Chief of Surgery at Cape Canaveral Hospital. Until the past several years, ""Bill"" was an avid boater and enjoyed his friendships with a variety of residents of the area. Dr. Hyden is survived by his wife of forty years Elizabeth Moseley Hyden, his daughter Lois Fein (Richard), granddaughterJulia Fein, stepson Phillip Shelby (Janine) and several nieces.He was predeceased by his first wife, Bess Long-Hyden and his daughter, Sally Hyden. The family wishes to thank Kim Bean for her care and kindness. No services are planned. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Humane Society or the ASPCA.
