Lawrence "Lemel Lippa Ben Labe" Melvin Wagman

Larry Wagman, 79, of Las Vegas passed away peacefully on August 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born to Charlotte and Louis Wagman in 1938, Larry grew up in Los Angeles and attended Hamilton High School and later served in the U.S. Army as a medic at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington. He was married to Wilma Wagman for nearly thirty years until her death in 1990 and then to Lonnie Wagman for 27 years. Larry enjoyed a lengthy career in the restaurant supply business, working at Sunshine, CSF Continental, and a variety of other wholesale food companies. Pursuing his dream to own a family business, Larry also purchased a printing business Quality Graphics and Printing. Prior to retiring, he was the manager of sales at Marfred Industries in Las Vegas. He found his true passion as a longtime volunteer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, volunteering more than 6,000 total hours. Larry made friends with everyone he encountered from waiters, bartenders, casino dealers, airport passengers, doctors, and nurses. Larry was able to live two meaningful, loving lives – one in Los Angeles and the second one in Las Vegas where he retired in 2008. He loved John Wayne movies, playing the "Sun and the Moon" slot machine at the Suncoast Casino, Vegas shows, sending monthly anniversary roses to Lonnie at her school, going on cruises, going to Lakers games with Lonnie during the Magic Johnson days, getting hotdogs at Costco with his buddies, keeping up with all aspects of his grandchildren's lives and most of all—meeting and talking to new people. Larry is survived by his adoring wife, Lonnie, his children Cheryl Adler (Jeff), Steve Wagman (Cara) and Marc Wagman (Julie),and five grandchildren: Hillary Sampson (Chris), Scott Adler (Ramona), Will Silver Wagman, Dolan Silver Wagman and Katie Wagman, and great-granddaughter Tara Adler. Much to his delight, his marriage to Lonnie in 1992 increased his family to include daughters Devora Rosenberg (Michael), and Rebecca Bernstein, grandson Jack Hyatt Rosenberg, all of whom he welcomed as his own. He was also blessed to have mother-in-law Dorothy Steinberg in his life until August 3, 2018 when she passed at age 102. Larry is also survived by his sister Marlene Bram (Phyllis Ritner) and brother Harley Karz-Wagman (Barbara Karz) in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Groman Eden Mortuary, at 1:00 PM, in the Eternal Light Chapel, located at 11509 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345.
