Alan DeWitt Pope passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023, at Viera Health and Rehab. Alan will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jean, his children Holly, Michael, Stacy, and 5 grandchildren. Alan leaves a legacy of love, resilience, creativity, and most of all, smiles and laughter. Alan was born in Atlanta, GA on November 7, 1946. He remained in the greater Atlanta area until joining the U.S. Marine Corps after high school in 1966. He proudly served his country in Vietnam and demonstrated true valor and honor earning him two Purple Hearts. Throughout Alan’s lifetime he was known for his positive spirit, community participation, artistic talent, sense of humor and fixing his kids' cars. Wherever Alan went, there followed laughter and smiles that will remain with us forever. Funeral services for our hero will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
