Donnie Dean Ellis
December 31st, 1938 - March 30th, 2019
Mrs. Donnie Dean Ellis passed away from us on Saturday morning March 30, 2019 at Blumenthal Nursing Home in Greensboro, North Carolina. She slipped away peacefully to rejoin her husband of 48 years, John Ellis, Jr. Her time on this earth was a short 80 years. She will be watching over her children from above and will be remembered for her unique sense of humor. Donnie was one of ten siblings who was also a woman with a giving heart who cared for more children than just her own. She is survived by her children, John Fields, Jr. (Judith), Benny Fields (Pat), Donna Swaim, and John Ellis, III (Denise); seven grandchildren, Carley, Crystal, Jessica, Kenley, Benny “BJ”, Forrest, Grayson; and six great-grandchildren; Katie, Hannah, Hayden, Aidan, Nasir, Brielend; brothers, Donald (her twin), Otis, and Bobby. Donnie is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Moran Dean and Sydney Dillon Dean; and her son, Michael Ray Fields; sisters, Polly, Ola, Helen; brothers, Edward, JC, and Jimmy; and her favorite son-in-law, Jimmy Swaim. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 2:00PM, Sunday April 7, 2019 at Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church, 1616 Scalesville Road, Summerfield, NC 27358. The family will visit with friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Friday April 5, 2019 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home in Greensboro, NC. The family will receive guests after the funeral on Sunday at the Ellis home at 151 Burton Farm Road, Greensboro, NC 27455 Friends and family may sign, and view the guest book at www.LambethTroxlerFuneralHome.com In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Donnie Dean Ellis Memorial fund at The Volunteer Center of Greensboro, 1500 Yanceyville St. Greensboro, NC 27405.
