Kenneth "Ken" Charles Ward
November 18th, 1921 - October 16th, 2021
Kenneth Charles Ward died Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mr. Ward was born November 18, 1921, in Bolton, North Carolina to Alonzo Bruce Ward and Hattie Reaves Ward. He is a graduate of Hallsboro, North Carolina, High School, Mars Hill University and LaSalle University. Mr. Ward is a member of Wilmington Lodge 319 AE Scottish Rite Bodies, Morocco Shrine of Jacksonville, Florida, Eastern Guilford Chapter 141, MESH Chapter 379 of North Carolina and White Stone, Tommy Jones Chapel of Greensboro. He retired as an executive from CSX Corporation after 38 years of service. Mr. Ward served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Mayrant during World War II and aboard the USS Bauer during the Korean Conflict. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 73 years, Barbara Rose Burke Ward. He is currently survived by his son Kenneth Chris Ward and his wife, Brenda of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, granddaughters Barbara E. Ward of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and Jennifer R. Bolduc (Joshua) of Melbourne, Florida, great grandson Landry C. Bolduc and great granddaughter Bailey E. Bolduc and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 26th at 2:00PM at WhiteStone, Tommy Jones Chapel, officiated by Dr. Pat Spicer, Chaplain. Memorial services and entombment with military rites will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Wednesday, October 27th at 2:00PM, 1311 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, North Carolina with Pastor Amy Scruggs officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Masonic & Eastern Star Home, 700 South Holden Road, Greensboro, North Carolina 27407.
