David Arthur Lawson, 90, of Greensboro went home to be with his Heavenly Father on November 27, 2022. David married Jane Yates Lawson on February 16, 1961. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years; son, David W. Lawson (Carolyn Lawson); daughter, Sharen “Kay” Jackson (Mel Jackson); grandson, Marcus Lawson; granddaughter, Miranda L. Owensby (Tim Owensby); great-granddaughter, Loreli S. Owensby; and his great-grandson, Dresden L. Owensby. David Lawson served in the US Navy for 3 years serving in the Korean War on the ship USS-Boxer. He recently had the privilege of going to Washington, DC on the Triad Honor Flight with other veterans to show how much he and the others are appreciated for their service in the military. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Faith Freewill Baptist Church. A visitation will be held from 1:00PM-2:00PM prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens in Jamestown, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Freewill Baptist Church.
