Allen Wayne Glass

Allen Wayne Glass of Greensboro, NC passed away at home on November 2, 2023 with family by his side. Allen fought a brief, but difficult battle with cancer. Allen was born on September 22, 1950 to Hazel Dunifer Glass and James Monroe Glass. He is survived by his siblings, sister Leslie Glass Smith of Lake Norman, NC and brother Doug Glass of Millers Creek, NC; daughter, Carolyn Glass McMahon; grandson, Alex Bryan of Richmond, VA; niece and nephew, Angie and Brent Smith; and longtime friend, Patti Dewasthali. Allen graduated from Page HS in 1969 where he was a proud and valued member of the track team. Allen spent his entire working life in the construction industry operating heavy equipment. Allen was an animal lover and over his lifetime had many dogs that he cared for lovingly. Allen cherished his annual trip to his “happy” place on Molunkus Lake, Maine. He was an avid Duke fan and enjoyed watching Duke play with long time friends at the Bench Tavern. A memorial service for Allen (no viewing) will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 at 1pm at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in the Lambeth Chapel, 300 W Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC.
