Odell Walker

Mr. Odell D. Walker, 65, of Summerfield died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, at Reedy Fork Baptist Church with Dr. James Talbert and Reverend Steve Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Walker was born in Guilford County, March 24, 1947. He was married to Linda Reeder Walker for over 37 years and was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Walker and Alma Allred, adopted parents, Millard and Ethel Gregory, brother Ovadean Gregory, sisters, Wilhelmina Ellis, Ann Rumley, and lots of canine friends. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Linda Walker; sisters, Patricia Foster and Arabradella Allen (W.C.); brother, Fred Gregory; sister-in-law, Phyllis Cockman (Tommy); nephews, Daniel Cockman and Nathan Cockman; special cousin Michael Shatley (Susan) and many loving cousins; 'adopted' sons, Kenny Tilley (Donna) Butch Cone (Jennifer) and Eddie Talbert (Terri); many caring and loving friends, fishing and hunting buddies and his constant companion, 'Nippy Blue'. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Monday, at Reedy Fork Baptist Church, and following the service in the church fellowship hall.
