Juanita "Wannie" Young McCormick
April 11th, 1933 - September 22nd, 2013
Mrs. Juanita "Wannie" Young McCormick, 80, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Bluementhal's Jewish Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 100 Hwy 150 E, Greensboro, with the Reverend Angela Marlowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. McCormick was born April 11, 1933 in Guilford County, NC to Elias L. and Alma McGee Young. She was the youngest of 9 children. She was married to Rufus G. McCormick and a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents and 7 of her siblings, she was preceded in death by her son, Gordon "Moochie" McCormick. Mrs. McCormick is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Rufus G. McCormick Sr.; daughter Lynn Bates and husband Tommy; sister, Elsie Marshall; sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Young and Nora Young; 4 grandchildren, Eddie McLaurin, Hillary Headen and husband Terrence, Ashley McCormick and Zachary McCormick 4 great-grandchildren, Mohagony, Mariah, Morgan and Mason Headen. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home
