Greensboro Mary Esther Austin Kennedy, 88, died on March 27 2012, at Whitestone A Masonic and Eastern Star Community. Mary was born July 8, 1923 to Harry Morton and Ruth May Saunders Austin in Danville, VA. Mary's graveside service will be at Lakeview Memorial Park at 1:00 pm Friday with the Pastor Randy Pearman officiating. Mrs. Kennedy is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Kennedy; a sister, Jean Guffey; brothers, James Austin, William 'Champ' Austin and Harry Austin, Jr. She is survived by her two sons, Byron Kennedy and wife Tanya of Summerfield, Jimmy Kennedy and wife Shirley of McLeansville; a sister Betty Meeks of Birmingham, AL; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends on Thursday March 29th at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Whitestone for the loving and compassionate care given to Mary during her illness. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to The Whitestone Community at 700 S Holden Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407.
