Elaine "Sally" H. Jordan

Elaine H. "Sally"Jordan (nee Heritage), 97, of Woodbury, New Jersey, passed away peacefully with family on Thursday, June 23, 2022. What a Wonderful Journey Legacy Born on October 9th, 1924 to Harold and Ruth Heritage and was raised on a farm where she learned her love for nature, hard work, discipline, strength and determination. She graduated from Paulsboro High School, Class of 1942 as a Scholar Athlete and is in the PHS Sports Hall of Fame. Then went on to Mary Washington, which is now University of Mary Washington Class of 1946. Sally became a teacher at West Deptford High School starting in 1960 and was instrumental in establishing girls PE curriculum and girls athletics. She coached field hockey from 1962-1983, girls tennis and won 6 tennis titles also boys tennis and won 3 titles. Her total wins 426, losses 128 and ties 29. She was a woman of faith and devotion to her church St. Paul's Methodist Church in Thorofare, NJ since she was three years old. Sally enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and tennis. Finally hung up her racket in 1987 after managing and playing with the SJ Women's Tennis League. She will be remembered by her devotion to her family, church, loved ones, friends and all those that she came in contact with. Family She was the beloved wife of 49 wonderful years to the late LeRoy "Rip" Jordan. Devoted mother of Robert Jordan (Lynda), Elaine Blair (Bill), daughter-in-law Gerry and the late Jay Jordan. Treasured grandmother of Jess, Elaine (Jeff), Jennifer (Casey), William (Nina), Greg (April) and Meg (Mark). Adored great grandmother of Myles, Ellie, Landyn, Grayson, Jasper and Blake. Daughter of the late Ruth and Harold Heritage. Dear sister of the late Harold "Skeets" Heritage (Late Edie), Marion Robbins (late Frank), late Norman Heritage (late Harriet). She will be missed by family and friends. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday, June 29th from 9:00AM to 12:00PM in the St. Paul's Methodist Church, 74 Church Street, West Deptford, NJ.
