Fredi Guerke

Fredi G. Guerke, 78, of Summerville, SC passed away on July 2, 2019. He was preceded in death by Marilyn, his wife of 43 years and his parents Kurt & Martha Guerke. He is survived by his wife Carmen Maria, his daughter LaDonna & his son-in-law Dave Newman, his grandson Glen, his wife Jeannette and great-grandson Evan. Also surviving is his sister Rita Ferraioli, sister Karin & brother-in-law Bob Lombardi, nephew Bobby & wife Maria Lombardi and great nephews Nicolas and Lucas Lombardi. Fredi was a naturalized US citizen born in Germany 1940. On December 20,1967 he became an American. It was his Proudest day to become an American Citizen. He shed tears whenever he heard the National Anthem. He was a Mason for 47 years. He retired from the Federal Government (GPO) after 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed hunting and target shooting. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with Friends. He enjoyed German food and steak You never saw him without his cowboy hat and boots. He was a wonderful husband and family man. His pride and joy was his grandson Glen Newman His joy was doubled when his great-grandson Evan was born. He never met a stranger in his entire life and was much loved by his Family and Friends. We lost a Beautiful man but Heaven gained an Angel. Memorial Service for Fredi Guerke will take place at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church located at 720 Old Trolley Road, Summerville SC Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11am All are welcome to join as we celebrate the life God granted Fredi and the Peace he now enjoys. Will have refreshments.
