John H Behrens

John H Behrens, 80, of Ladson, South Carolina, husband of Barbara Behrens, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 26th, 2024. His memorial service will be held at Deer Park Baptist Church, 8875 University Blvd, North Charleston, SC 29406. The Family will receive friends on May 3,2024 at Deer Park Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11 – 12 pm. Service will begin at 12pm. John was born June 1st, 1943 in Chicago, son of Walter and Fern Behrens. He retired from the United States Air Force, Air Force Reserves and the Civil Service as a Master Sergeant with a combined total of 33 years of service. After retiring John had a landscaping business and enjoyed working outside and helping people. As a member of Deer Park for 50 years, John served as a Sunday School teacher, Bus Driver for the Bus Ministry and worked with the Construction Ministry. John loved his Lord, family, and friends. He enjoyed teaching his sons about mechanics, home renovation, and landscaping. He also shared his love of aviation with his sons. Visiting the mountains and taking cruises was one of his favorite things. In later years he loved flying his PC flightsim and working on scale models. Along with his wife Barbara of 57 years, he is survived by his two sons, David (Linda) and Daniel (Melissa) and grandson Tyler. Also survived by Chris Regnier, Tommy Benton, Debbie Benton and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Fern Behrens; and baby brother David. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Deer Park Baptist Church or Intrepid Hospice, 201 Sigma Drive Suite 130B, Summerville 29486
