William Earl Blair, who loved to travel, made his last trip to his heavenly home May 14th, 2024. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 55 years, Betty. They were always side by side in their careers and in hobbies they enjoyed, such as building projects and gardening. Earl was always on the lookout for a good costume for a holiday event and enjoyed life and sharing food and fellowship with family and friends. As a loving father to Sundi (Rudy) Romano and Melissa (Curt) Edwards, he passed on his teasing manner, gift of singing, and his appreciation of all genres of music. He welcomed a chosen daughter, Karen Romano into his life and was Proud Papa to Rebecca and Jemma Romano, the granddaughters who brought him so much joy. He was the son of John (Bud) and Ila Blair. Earl has a surviving sister, Nancie (Carey) Doyle. He is also survived by nephew Carey Blair, nieces Sherry (Greg) Fleming, Linda Clarey and Cathy King, all from the Anderson SC area. His surviving nephews Jefferey (Kelly) Fox and Douglas (Jeanie) Fox are from Florida. He is preceded in death by his brothers Clyde (Joyce) Blair and Aiden Blair and his sisters Virgie Nell (Joe) Campbell, Martha (Ed) Smith, and Margaret Blair. His niece Theresa (Bobby) Campbell also preceded him in death. As a Vietnam Combat Veteran, he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was most appreciative of the assistance provided by the Disabled American Veterans. The Family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to Brayleigh, his devoted caregiver who made him laugh and cared for him like family. Gratitude also goes to the staff of Intrepid Hospice who walked this path with us. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Reformed University Fellowship (University of South Florida – Becca Romano – Intern) or The Disabled American Veterans or The Parkinson’s Foundation. Services to include a viewing at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services at 281 Treeland Drive, Suite C, Ladson, SC, 29456 on Friday, May 17th at 10am. Funeral and burial with military honors will be held at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery 140 In way Drive, Anderson, SC, 29621, on Monday, May 20th at 1pm.
