Martha G. Petrov January 1, 1918 �" April 22, 2007 Age: 89 Residence: Greeley, CO Tribute: Martha G. Petrov was born in Granville, MO to the union of William J. Smith M.D. and Lucille (Goodson) Smith. Mrs. Petrov graduated from Hannibal (MO) High School in 1936 and Hannibal LaGrange College in 1938. She also attended the University of Missouri at Columbia. Mrs. Petrov helped in her father’s medical practice prior to serving in the Women’s Army Corp from 1942-1944. On January 9, 1944 she married Anthony Petrov at Craig Field in Selma, Alabama. Mrs. Petrov was a housewife, mother and worked hard helping on the family farm and managing the family-run restaurant. She enjoyed embroidery and other forms of needlework, her friends and table mates at Garden Square and outings with her friend Niki. The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Stanley and the staff members at Garden Square and NCMC and Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado for their exceptional care. Mrs. Petrov went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 22, 2007. Survivors: Sons, Anthony W. Petrov of Syracuse, NY, Michael C. Petrov and wife Janet of Anchorage, AK, Joseph A Petrov and wife Ann of Pueblo, CO, and John D. Petrov of Denver, CO; daughter, Maria VanKempen and husband Eugene of Keizer, OR; grandchildren, Charity, Nathaniel, and Joanna Petrov; nephew, Robert Kopp; niece, Lory Kopp; and special friends Niki Carey and Paul Andre. Preceded in death by: Husband, Anthony C. Petrov; parents; one sister, Mary Jane Switzer. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Adamson Downtown Chapel. Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Linn Grove Cemetery. Note: In lieu of flowers and food memorial contributions may be made in Martha’s memory to the NCMC Foundation and/or Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado, Inc. in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services 827 5th St. Greeley, CO 80631.
