Dennis G. Lambert
August 12th, 1953 - January 12th, 2018
Dennis "Denny” Gene Lambert, 64, went to be with Jesus on January 12, 2018 after a lengthy battle from the effects of Multiple Sclerosis. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Denny was born to the late Leo and Wanda (Bauercamper) Lambert in Moline, IL on August 12, 1953. Denny attended schools in Moline and graduated in 1971. He had interests in baseball, volleyball, guitar, golf, fishing, deer and turkey hunting, and scuba diving. He graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Geology from Western Illinois University, and was employed by American Engineering Company in Moline. Denny married his best friend, Brenda Dee Shipe, on September 18, 1976. Sparked by a mutual love of the mountains in Colorado, they moved there in 1977. It was there their first child, Aimee Leigh, was born in 1980 followed by their son, Andrew Elvin in 1984. While in Colorado, Denny worked for Fox and Associates in Wheat Ridge, CO and later for Empire Labs in Fort Collins, CO in the geo-engineering fields. He loved doing field work and traveled the whole state of Colorado. In 1986, Denny and Brenda settled in Missouri, where eventually Denny worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation as NE district geologist in Hannibal, MO. He loved his job there, but due to increased health issues, he retired in 2008 and they settled in Greeley, CO. Denny went to church as a child at the invitation of a close friend. In adulthood, Denny and Brenda rededicated their lives to Christ and served him faithfully ever since. Denny served as deacon, church board president, adult Sunday School teacher and was in a gospel bluegrass music band. He played guitar, banjo, mandolin, and electric guitar. He wrote several songs during this time and also gave guitar lessons to teens. Denny was currently a member of the Greeley First Church of the Nazarene. Denny is survived by Brenda, wife of 41 years; daughter, Aimee (Michael) Krommendyk; son, Andrew (Ashley) Lambert; brother, Randy (Cathy) Lambert; brother-in-law, Gary (Susan) Shipe; nieces and nephew; and 8 beautiful grandchildren, Selah, twins Seth and Ethan, and Elliana Krommendyk; and Mackynna, Kamdyn, Kealie, and baby Grayson Lambert. They all brought great joy and blessing to "Papa” Lambert. "Papa” had a great sense of humor and loved to tease his kids and grandkids and was such an inspiration to all he was around, always having a smile and "high 5”! He lived, loved, and laughed! May Denny "Papa” Lambert rest in peace in his new body at "HOME” in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ! We love you forever! Until we meet again!! Special thanks to Suncrest Hospice especially Barb, RN, Alissa, RN, Dr. Patel, and CNAs for their excellent care and support. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Adamson Mortuary in Greeley, CO.
