Ellena Lee Sinden

Ellena Lee Sinden, 90, of Greeley died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the inpatient unit of Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado. She was born March 16, 1919, in Anderson, Missouri. Mrs. Sinden moved to Colorado in 1935 with her family. On February 9, 1942, she married Charles Sinden, the love of her life for nearly 68 years. They had two sons and one daughter. Mrs. Sinden loved being a homemaker and wife. She was the pride and inspiration of her family. In earlier years, she was an accomplished seamstress making clothing for her family. She enjoyed tending her rose garden. She and her husband spent much of their free time camping, fishing and boating. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life and more recently, her great-grandchildren brought her great joy. She and her husband are members of Destiny Christian Church. Survivors are her husband, Charles Sinden; her daughter, Betty Robb and husband, Tom; two sons, Bob Sinden and wife, Jo, and Jim Sinden; all of Greeley; four grandchildren, Mike Widner and wife, Jodi of Lone Tree, Sheri Poznanovic and husband, Matthew of Monument, Robert Sinden and wife, Andrea, and David Sinden, all of Greeley; and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carrie and Andrew Casteel, and six brothers. Visitation will be Thursday, January 14th 6:00-8:00 pm at Adamson Chapel; services at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 15th at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens immediately following.
