Ruth L. Dill was born to Edward and Mary (Volz) Lind in Greeley. She grew up and attended elementary school in Severance, CO. In 1946 she graduated from Windsor High School. On August 15, 1948 she married Harry LeRoy Dill in Greeley at Trinity Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Greeley area until 1969. After raising her son, Mrs. Dill went to work for dentist, W. A. Rutledge in Greeley and continued there for twenty-six years before retiring. She enjoyed flowers, sewing, working crossword puzzles, putting together jig-saw puzzles and especially enjoyed walking her dog, Amy. She also enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite trips was to the World’s Fair in Canada in 1986. Mrs. Dill was a member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia and enjoyed attending AHSGR Conventions with her sister. She always enjoyed meeting new people and sharing with others. Mrs. Dill died Thursday, November 8, 2007 at her residence in Greeley. Survivors: Her husband, Harry LeRoy Dill of Greeley; son James "Jim” Harry Dill of Greeley; brothers, Edward Lind of Castle Rock, CO. and Harold Lind of Hot Springs, AR; sister, Judith J. (Lind) Leffler and husband, Richard "Dick” of Ft. Collins, CO; step-brother, W. Wayne Miller of Windsor, CO. and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Her parents; sisters, Wilma (Lind) Tomgish and Eleanor Lind; two still-born babies; and step-mother, Lydia (Volz) Lind. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue in Greeley. Visitation: Friends may visit from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Adamson West Chapel. Interment: Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley. Note: Memorial contributions may be made to the Ruth L. Dill Memorial Fund in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, CO 80634. Contributions will be divided among her favorite charities.
