Memorial

Ross Adamson, 82, of Rancho Mirage, CA formerly of Greeley, CO died August 8, 2003 at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage. He was born November 4, 1920 in Rogersville, PA to James S. and Eva Kathryn (Phillips) Adamson. He grew up in Rogersville. On July 10, 1942 he married Sarah "Sue" Squires in Nashville, TN. Ross came to Colorado and started Adamson Mortuary with his brother, Reed in 1948. He was Weld County coroner for 28 years. His family described him as a fun loving man who liked to talk and made friends easily. He was involved in the community in a number of ways, from being a delegate to help write Greeley's government charter in 1958 to helping organize the Greeley Boys Club. It was his love for the community that made him hard to be apart from it, his family said. Ross's weak heart couldn't take Colorado's altitude, and he lived in California for the last three years of his life, however they still considered Greeley their home. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Sue Adamson of Rancho Mirage; daughter, Kay Adamson; and grandson, Jeb Adamson Marsh. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at First Presbyterian Church in Greeley. Interment will follow at Linn Grove Cemetery.
