Laurie Ann Johnson, 49, of Cloquet died Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet. She was born May 22, 1961 in Duluth to Jerry and Joyce Jerde. She grew up in Cloquet and Esko and graduated from Esko High School in 1979. She worked as an Office Manager at various industrial companies. Laurie also worked at Senior Friends for several years. On July 21, 2007 she married Matt Johnson. Laurie graduated from Lake Superior College with a degree in accounting in 2008. Laurie is survived by her loving husband, Matt; her daughter, Mindi (Cory) Aho of Tamarack; two sons, Kyle and Alec Bartz both of Cloquet; her parents, Jerry and Joyce Jerde of Cloquet; brother Jeffrey (Flora) Jerde of Wausau, Wisc.; sister, Paula (Michael) Stuermer of Wausau, Wisc.; mother and father-in-law, Jean and Arnold Johnson of Esko; paternal grandmother, Eleanor Jania of Cloquet; two grandchildren, Cole and Kayla Aho; and her pride and joy, her cocker spaniels, Maggie May and Libby Lou. Funeral services were held on Thurs., March 24, 2011 in Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. A time of lunch and fellowship followed in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Burial was in Atkinson Cemetery in Atkinson.
