View Slide Show Paul Walter Schmitz, 47, of Deer River and Cloquet, died Sunday, August 21, 2005 in St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Paul, MN. He was born on November 7, 1957 in Duluth to Dalvin and Elizabeth (Dugal) Schmitz. Paul was a 1976 graduate of Cloquet High School. He was previously employed at Conwed in Cloquet and most recently employed at the Pines Resort in Deer River. He was preceded in death by his father, Dalvin "Pete" in Feb. 1996 and his mother, Elizabeth on March 5, 2005. Paul is survived by his daughter Angela Wait (Brian Loven) of Carlton; his children, Korin, Karmen, Noah and Ty Schmitz and their mother, Barbara, all of Bayfield, WI; one grandson, Alex Loven, of Carlton; four sisters, Barb (Roy) Olson of Barnum, Betty Jean (Gene) Bergstrom of Deer River, Mary (Albert) Smith of Phoenix, AZ and Roberta Schmitz of Kansas and one brother, Wayne (Carrie) Schmitz of Grand Rapids and numerous other family members. Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 25, 2005 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery, Carlton. View Slide Show
