Gloria Jennifer Ivanov
September 6th, 1998 - April 19th, 2018
Gloria Jennifer Ivanov was born on Sunday September 6, 1998 to a family of two parents, Alex and Nelya, and five siblings: Leo, James, Mila, Victor, and Vitaly. Her first name was given by her Grandma Vera and her middle name was chosen by her Grandpa Fridrikh. She loved to be called "Glo/Globug/Mom's Zuzee and Dad's Zoska." She said, "I feel empowered when Dad calls me Zoska." She loved animals and considered a career as a Veterinarian. She raised two dogs and two cats in her life. When Gloria was young, she attended Sunday School, went to church summer camps, and studied the Bible. She was a nature loving free spirit. Even as a child, Gloria dreamed big and had a strong sense of independence. When she was only 12 years old, she chose to become a vegetarian and stayed on this diet since then. She started several businesses including a lemonade stand, dog walking, babysitting, and graphic design. She liked photography and had good computer skills. At the age of 14 she witnessed her friend being hit by a car. While she was under intensive care, Gloria organized a successful fundraising campaign with her friends to help with medical expenses. At sixteen, Gloria moved out to live on her own. With newfound independence, she lived adventurously, traveling around the United States and meeting fun-loving people. In her life struggles Gloria always had support from her parents and siblings. She honored her siblings and her cultural roots by having her siblings' names tattooed on her right arm in Russian cursive. On March 31st, she achieved a lifelong dream and moved to sunny Los Angeles, where she wanted to plant her roots, earn a business degree, and start her own business. Sadly, Gloria Ivanov died unexpectedly in Los Angeles on April 19, 2018. She was 19 years old and is survived by her mother, father, and five siblings. She will be missed greatly by her family, relatives and friends. Viewing and graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on May 2, 2018 at Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro. Any help will be greatly appreciated. If you have a PayPal account, you can contribute here. The Ivanov's family members express their sincere gratitude to Dean Markasky and E. John Gruber for providing comfort, helping with funeral arrangements, and finding a final resting place for Gloria in the Garden of Peace by Swan Lake at Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro, her hometown.
