Bonnie James Cooper, (29) of Gloversville, NY, passed away Wednesday August 13, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Amsterdam, NY on December 4, 1941 a daughter of the late Conrad and Barbara Van Horne Bobilin. Her mom recently passed away this year on March 17, 2014. Bonnie was the owner and operator of the former Velvet Glove Cocktail Lounge in Gloversville for many years. She was a volunteer at many businesses and health care facilities in the area. She enjoyed being with her family and was an avid Red Sox fan. She married Ralph Cooper who passed away on December 28, 1993. Survivors include her children, Ken (Barb) James of Gloversville, Lisa (Bob) Mulhall of Gloversville, NY, Lynn (Ike) Foss of Happyjack, Arizona, and Laurie Kaczor of Gloversville, NY. Two brothers, Robert (Kathy) Bobilin, Wayne (Paula) Bobilin. Three sisters, Phyllis (Bucky) Martin, Frances Jean (Les) Slatsman, Barbara Ann (Brian) Clark. Five grandchildren, Jamie, Cassie, Kyler, Garrett and Mariah. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville, NY 12078. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jackson and Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St. Fultonville, NY 12072.
