Sharon Celeste Miller

Sharon Celeste Miller, 55, of Anderson Rd., Sprakers, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 6, 2013 at her home in her husband's loving arms. Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 30, 1957, a daughter of Louis Cuyler and Evelyn Pearce Cuyler. She was a lifelong area resident and was a 1975 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. She went on to attend FMCC and later was a graduate of the Austin Beauty School with certificates in Nail Tech and Barbering. She received her New York State License in both Barbering and Nail Technician. Sharon worked for herself at Celestial Nails and for A Cut Above Salon in Fonda for many years. She also worked as an Office Manager and Billing Specialist for Dr. Kurt Konieczny in Amsterdam where she enjoyed meeting with his patients and their families and squeezing all the little pudgy baby thighs she could, her best part of the job. Sharon loved all kinds of animals and caring for them. She enjoyed crafting that included stamp art and also enjoyed her career as a Nail Tech and Barber. Tending to her flowers, herbs, vegetable garden and canning were also a passion of hers. Everyone knew Sharon as a kind heart who loved being with her family and friends. While struggling with her illness she never complained and always was concerned for others. She married John J. Miller Jr. on July 9, 1977. In addition to her loving husband survivors include her two beloved sons, Jacob Jayette Miller of Amsterdam and Lucas Miller and his Fiance' Haley Fonda of Amsterdam, NY. One brother, Jeff Joanne Green of San Antonio, TX and two sisters, Pam Carnevale Edward of Dallas, TX and Debby Lambert of Las Vegas, NV. Cherished granddaughter, Anabelle Miller. Step-mother, Carolyn Cuyler of San Antonio , TX . Father-in-law, John Miller Sr. of Amsterdam. Nieces and nephews, Erin and Ashley Bartosik, Kate and Daniel Quiri, Brandon Miller, Steve Carneval and Lauren May. Sisters-in-law, Linda Richard Bartosik and Deborah Mark Quiri. One brother-in-law, Richard Stephanie Miller. Aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her father, Louis Cuyler of Amsterdam and her mother, Evelyn Pearce of California. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. Brett Popp presiding. Cremation will take place at Vale Cemetery Crematorium in Schenectady. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers it was Sharon's request that donations be made to the Ayers Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hill Top Rd., Sprakers, NY 12166 or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, GLoversville, NY 12078 in her memory.
