Deborah A. DiSalvi
November 11th, 1960 - February 11th, 2013
Deborah DiSalvi, 52, of Stella Lane, passed away Monday morning at home in the loving company of her family. She faced her five year battle against ovarian cancer with dignity and courage. Born in Fall River, Mass. On Nov. 11, 1960 her parents are Luzia "Lucy" Ferreira Figueiredo and the late Paul Figueiredo, she was raised in Westport and graduated from Westport High School in 1979. Moving to this area in 1988, she worked as a customer representative for Putman Insurance Agency in Amsterdam and the Jardine Group Services Corp. of Schenectady. Debbie held her NYS Property & Casualty Brokers License. She served as a teacher's aide in Special Education at Amsterdam High School , and was Class Advisor of her son Andrew's 2014 graduating class, and a Girl Scout Leader of her daughter Gabby's Troup 2316. Debbie chose to stay home full time while her children were growing up. She loved being involved in their activities. She was great at organizing, taking charge and bringing people together to support fundraisers, dances or anything that made her children's lives better. She loved cooking, roller skating, camping and snowmobiling in Old Forge, NY. Debbie loved the ocean, especially Horseneck Beach near her childhood home in Westport. Most of all, Debbie loved her family, and her dear canine pal Freckles, who was always at her side and missed her when she had to leave home for treatments. She leaves her husband of twenty one years, Victor DiSalvi; children Andrew and Gabrielle; mother Lucy Figueiredo; sisters Brenda and husband Joe Pimentel, Cheryl and husband Michael Serijan, and brother David and wife Christine Figueiredo as well as nieces and nephews.
