Mr. Charles B. "Chuck" Maines, 68 years old, of Hope Falls Road, died Thursday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, NY. Chuck was born August 12, 1942, in Amsterdam, a son of Floyd and Gladys Bollacker Maines. He moved to the Town of Hope in 1987 where he had since resided. Chuck had delivered milk for the Mohawk Dairy in Amsterdam before accepting a position as a truck driver for the former Almor Inc. where he was employed for many years. Chuck enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards, cooking on the grill and reading Westerns. He loved his family and especially enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Ramona Lee Maines whom he married October 13, 1990. He is also survived by his daughter Christine Maines and her significant other David J. Hopkins of Gloversville, his sons: Allen Hoover and his fiancé Carina Nadolny of Amsterdam and Kevin Hoover and his wife Tavia of Mayfield, his brother George Maines of Rochester, two grandchildren: Andrea Maines and Brianna Hoover, two great grandchildren: Javana and Donovan, nieces, nephews and cousins. Chuck also leaves behind his cat, Tumbles. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Monday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, with The Rev. Brian Dykema officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 9 until 11:00am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Northampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
