Mrs. Gilda C. Capozzelli, 91 years old, of Forbes Street, died Tuesday morning at her home. She was born June 3, 1915 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Capozzelli moved to Amsterdam as a child, where she had since resided. She was employed as a Secretary for former Congressman Sam Stratton at his Amsterdam office. She then worked as office manager for her son?s carpet cleaning business. Mrs. Capozzelli was also a licensed Beautician. She was a former communicant of St. Michael?s Church. Mrs. Capozzelli loved to play golf and was a great supporter of several Christian Charities. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas D. Capozzelli, and her parents Joseph and Rose DeMico Lucido. Mrs. Capozzelli is survived by four sons: Joseph Capozzelli and his wife Kiku of Japan, Robert Capozzelli of Amsterdam, Nicholas Capozzelli of Selkirk and Gerald Capozzelli and his wife Marie of Cohoes; two sisters: Geraldine Donato of Scotia and Florence Francolino of Schenectady; her step brother: Joseph DeMico of Georgia; two step sisters: Nina and Mary; and her granddaughter Natalie Capozzelli. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday at Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Burial is in St. Michael?s Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5 until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made: Trinity Broadcasting Network c/o the funeral home.
