Joseph Nichols

On Wednesday October 19th, 2016 the world tragically lost an incredible man. Joseph Nichols, 56, was born on June 30th, 1960 in Amsterdam NY. He was the son of the late Christine Cardale and Joseph M. Nichols. Joseph graduated from Amsterdam High School Class of 1978. On November 16th, 1985 he married the love of his life Karen Quiri. Joseph spent many years in the construction industry. It was a profession he loved very much; dedicating 24 years to Gorman Group in Glenville NY. A lifelong area resident Joseph loved music, not just any music but he loved Rock and Roll. He played drums and was in several bands locally. In September of 2016 as a gift from his daughter Victoria, Joseph was able to meet Alice Cooper who was one of his most esteemed idols. Joseph was a rocker but also a family man. He often spent time playing video games with his son Anthony and enjoyed painting built up custom resin models. He was a hardworking quiet man with an easy going nature who was quick witted. Joseph was very personable. He was an incredible father, an amazing husband, and a true friend. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Karen Nichols; his sons Anthony J. Nichols and Christopher S. Giglio; his daughter Victoria M. Nichols; his brother Robert Nichols; his sister Irene Nichols; and his grandchildren, Joshua S. Giglio and Christopher R. Giglio. Many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Joseph is predeceased his parents Christine and Joseph Nichols; his sisters Catherine Nichols-Hart and Patricia Nichols-Morrell; and his grandson Jason P. Giglio. A Memorial Service for Joseph will take place on Sunday October 23rd, 2016 at 2pm at Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home from 12pm - 2pm.
