Paul M. Wilde
November 10th, 1944 - April 6th, 2016
Mr. Paul M. Wilde, 71, of Mayfield died peacefully on Wednesday, April 06, 2016 surrounded by his family, following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 10, 1944 he was the son of the late Herbert and Kathryn McGuire Wilde. A lifelong area resident, Paul graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He then went on to graduate from the New York State Police Academy and served as a Trooper from 1967 until 1987. Paul with the help of his father started Wilde Fire Equipment Company in 1983 and following his retirement was able to devote more time to the business with his wife Deb. Paul was fortunate to have been a part of two great brotherhoods, The NYS Troopers and Fire Service. He was a member of the Retired NYS Troopers Association and the NYS Fire Chiefs Association. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Johnstown, NY and the Masonic Lodge in Northville, NY. Paul also served as a Village of Mayfield Trustee for several terms. Paul also supported many organizations throughout his life time, and was committed to the area in which he lived. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Muselbeck Wilde; his pet companion, Jet; his sister, Dianne Wilde of Rochester, NY; and his adopted sister, Ellen Schultz of Scotia, NY; sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise and Ronald Waldron, Darlene Muselbeck, Diane and Tom Cionek, Richard and Katey Muselbeck; a special niece Brenna (Keith)Phillips and son Ryan. Additionally he is survived by nieces and nephew, Keira Muselbeck, Anne Keller, Nicole Childers, Tammy (Ron) Cronin, Peter Keller; great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will commence on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10 o'clock at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Bonnie Orth presiding. Paul's body will then be escorted by the MacBoston 18 Truck Caisson to Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville where he will be laid to rest. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 4 until 8p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local Fire Department or Humane Society in his memory.
