Iluminada Sanchez-Padilla

Iluminada Sanchez Padilla, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday June 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Iluminada was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico to Antonio Sanchez and Providencia Camacho on May 10, 1930, she later emigrated to Queens, NY where she lived until moving to Amsterdam in 1986. Iluminada was united in marriage to Francisco Padilla in 1950, their union lasted 34 years until his passing in 1984. Iluminada is survived by her sister Anacelia Sanchez, daughters Belen Padilla, Virgenmina Padilla, Luz Aida Padilla, Nereida Padilla, Myriam L. Padilla, and Rosa J. Padilla, sons Edwin Padilla, Francisco Antonio Padilla, and Francisco Padilla, she is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren. Iluminada was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Providencia, her husband Francisco, and son Felix Padilla, son Luis M. Padilla, sister Rosa Amelia Sanchez, as well as her brothers Ramon Sanchez, and Julio Sanchez. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28 2018 at 12 pm at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeffrey L’Arche M.S. as celebrant. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery following services. Calling hours will be held prior to the service on Thursday June 28 2018 from 10 am to 12pm at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
