September 28th, 1946 - April 20th, 2019
Mr. Ralph P. DeCarlo, 72, of Fort Johnson, NY passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 20, 2019. Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 28, 1946 a son of the late Anthony L. and Joanna L. DiCaterino DeCarlo Sr. He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1964. Ralph was employed for many years at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna as a Chemistry Coolant Tech and Chemical Engineer retiring in 2002. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors. He also enjoyed woodworking and building things from scratch. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, The Tribes Hill Fish & Game Club and the Parents Without Partners. Ralph married Marita L. Gibson DeCarlo on June 8, 1985. She passed away on October 24, 2018. Survivors include his daughters, Joanna (Tom Gordon) DeCarlo of Watervliet, NY, Jennifer (Shawn ) Maloney of Cohoes, NY, Marith (Jamie) Janetsky of Broadalbin, NY, April (Keith) McNab of Halfmoon, NY, and Kari (Joseph) Matteo. Cherished grandchildren, Rachael Seymour, Madison Janetsky, Lily Janetsky, McKenzie Snyder-Tripp, Samantha McNab, Joseph DeSanto, Dean Maloney, David Maloney, Brittany DeCarlo, Paul Gordon, Zachary Matteo, and Nicole Matteo. One brother, Anthony DeCarlo of Amsterdam. Three sisters, Patricia Earl, Amy Bubniak and Laurie Dostie all of Amsterdam. He also had several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ralph was also predeceased by a Step- son, Leon Snyder IV in 1994 and Grandson, William Gordon in 2018. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 30, 2019 at 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday April 29, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
