Barbara A. Hayes, 84, passed away July 9, 2019 at the A. O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta. Mrs. Hayes is a native of Amsterdam and moved to Oneonta in 1998. Born in Amsterdam on November 29, 1934 she was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Tullar) Godden. She was married to Norman H. Loucks in 1957, he passed away in 1969. She then married Robert H. Hayes in 1976 he passed away in 1984. Mrs. Hayes is a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Amsterdam, and is a member of Faithful Followers Bible Class. She worked for Mohawk Dress Shop from 1957 to 1969. Then she went to work for Amsterdam Memorial Hospital from 1985 to 1996. Mrs. Hayes is survived by a son Norman H. Loucks and his wife Tammy. Two granddaughters Abigail and Emily all of Oneonta. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her two husbands Barbara is predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday July 16, 2019 at 1 PM at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with the Rev. Dr. John A. Califano Pastor of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Amsterdam. Calling hour will take place two hours before the services from 11 to 1 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in Barbara’s memory can be made to the St Luke’s Lutheran Church, 24 Pine Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Online condolences can be made at www.brbsfuneral.com.
