Mrs. Karen A. Guisti, 66, of Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on September 11, 2021 as a result of a Motor Vehicle Accident. Born in Richmond Hill, Queens, New York on October 4, 1954 she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Sidden Risdell. A lifelong area resident, Karen was a graduate of Galway High School. She was employed by Fownes Brothers for many years until her retirement. Following retirement, Karen loved to watch her grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine and camping. Her greatest joy, was being surrounded by her family and many friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. On October 13, 1979 she was united in marriage to Donald J. Guisti Jr. That union was blessed with 38 years of marriage until his passing on December 8, 2017. She was also predeceased by a brother, Matthew Risdell. Survivors include her daughters, Krystina Guisti and her fiancé Owen Chizek, and Kathryn Guisti; two grandchildren, Kinley and Easton Chizek; four siblings, Jacqueline Waterhouse, Arthur Risdell Jr., Dennis Risdell and Helen Rayve; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Masks required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org
