Marion Furbeck Zerbinos
May 5th, 1930 - April 13th, 2024
Marion Furbeck Zerbinos, 93, of Syracuse passed away on April 13 at Upstate Medical University after a brief illness. Marion enjoyed a rich life filled with travel, friendship, and family. Born in Syracuse, she was the oldest of 12 children to John Charles and Ella Osbourn Furbeck. A graduate of Cato-Meridian High School, she worked at Western Electric as a telephone repair technician for 20 years before moving, along with her sister June, to Dunedin, Florida. While in Florida, she had a second career working for Nielsen Marketing conducting surveys. Marion also proudly served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras. She returned to Syracuse in 1999 and enjoyed a robust social life, surrounded by friends and her many nieces and nephews. Frequent visitors, weekly dinners with friends, and spending time with loved ones filled her days. Marion was predeceased by her son James. She is survived by her siblings John, Douglas, and Ellen, many nieces and nephews, and a grandson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm, with a service to follow immediately after. A private interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.
