Cheryl Ann Mika, 72, passed away to the Lord from a long illness at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1951 in Syracuse. Predeceased by mother Doreen (Billing) Davis, father Joseph Mika, brother Darrly J. Mika, grandmother Pauline Chrisjohn. Surviving to hold her loving memories are her children Carl Hayes (Sarah), Jamie Mika, daughters Paulette Dean, Linnie Brown, sisters, Marilyn J. Mika (Anthony Raymond), Shelia Gibson, Susan Mika, long time companion Johnny Dubose. 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt (Loretta Harris), family friend 46 years Susie Onarosa. Cheryl will be fondly remembered by family and friends for her loving smile, sense of humor, infectious personality. She enjoyed family BBQ’s and gatherings she had for everyone. Cheryl enjoyed going to Eastwood Senior Center doing crafts, bingo, book club, yoga and lunches with friends. The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and doctors on ICU and PUC units and second floor at SJH for their compassion and care for Cheryl. Thank you to the therapist and Dr. Chris at PACE. There will be calling hours from 11AM to 12PM on Tuesday, April 23rd at A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St. Syracuse, NY 13205. A funeral service will be 12PM to 12:30PM at the funeral home on the 23rd. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Jan Maloff funeral director
