September 8th, 1939 - June 26th, 2024
Percy (JR) Decker 84 of Syracuse passed away June 26, 2024 surrounded by family. Percy was born in Oneonta New York. He graduated from Broome Tech College with a business degree. He married his high school sweetheart Ruth Hanford on July 7, 1957. In 1959 he moved to Syracuse. He went to work for Pratt Plymouth. He later went to work at Win Gurney Pontiac working his way up the ladder until he was a business partner. After Win Gurney Pontiac was sold he went into business for himself selling used cars. He owned Decker Motor Car Inc. He had many locations. Park & Hiawatha, Burnet & Thompson.
He is predeceased by his father Percy Decker Sr, his mother Mildred Hitt Decker, brother Dilbert Decker, his sisters Evelyn Pratt and Iona Sitts.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Ruth Hanford Decker. His daughter Debbie (Joe) Simon. His son Darin. 3 grandchildren, Joey Simon, Jackie Rosenberg (Jacob) and Jess Simon. And 3 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services. The family will be having a private celebration of life.
