Felix Celso Quintana, 87, of Johnstown, passed away June 28, 2024 at UC Health Greeley Hospital.  He was born January 13, 1937 in Clayton, NM to Jose and Josephita (Trujillo) Quintana where he grew up, moving to Colorado in 1950. 

 

In October 1960, he married Fabiola “Viola” Odilia Cordova at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. 

 

Felix began working at the Johnstown Great Western Sugar Factory at a very young age, then worked for Monfort and then for Sherwood Enterprise in Longmont, which became Reliant, retiring in 2011. 

 

He loved playing poker, gambling, dice, shooting pool and time with his family, especially the grandkids. 

 

Survivors include his wife, Viola, their children; Danny (Shelly) Quintana, Jenny Quintana, Tina (John) Olivas, Susan Quintana and MaryJane Quintana, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great, great-grandchildren, his siblings; Archie (Dora) Quintana, Dan (Angie) Quintana and Connie (Manuel) Crespin. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Lewis and his sisters; Pauline Dominguez, Marie Garcia, Martina Arizmendi and Bea Carrillo as well as his grandson, John Olivas.

 

A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Adamson Life Celebration Home with a Recitation of the Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday, July 8 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown.  Interment at the Johnstown Cemetery.  A reception will follow at Grace Community Church, Johnstown. 

 

Memorial gifts may be made to the “John Olivas Memorial Scholarship” or “Alzheimer’s Association” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.  Condolences may be shared at AdamsonCares.com.
