Michael Paul Gifford
July 8th, 1951 - July 20th, 2024
Michael Paul Gifford, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2024, after a long illness at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 8, 1951, in Amsterdam, son of the late Paul Earl Gifford and Norine Anthony Gifford.
He was a graduate of Perth High School, Class of 1969.
Mike worked various jobs throughout his life, in his earlier years, he worked for his family business, Ellens Cleaning Service and Rent a Skate; he was a truck driver for several businesses. Mike also had his own business, a small engine repair business. In 2013 due to his health, Mike retired from Fulton County Solid Waste.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Czech) Gifford, whom he married on October 3, 1981; his son, Daniel Gifford (Megan); daughter, Kathleen Palmateer (Rob); brothers, Mark Gifford (Cheri), Ken Gifford (Paula) and Rick Gifford (Sue); sister, Lori Harlan (Gary); sister in laws, Deborah DaBiere and Dawn Garti; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by his niece, Amanda R. Gifford; mother & father in law, Paul & Marion Czech; brother in law, Clem DaBiere.
A memorial service for Mike will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 1pm with Rev. Kathy Reese officiating. Calling hours will be held prior beginning at 11am at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.
