Alma "Jean" Reed
Alma Jean Anderson was born on May 28th 1937 in Elberton Georgia. "Jean" as she was known by family and friends, moved to Glennville Georgia where she grew up.
Jean met Dale Lloyd Reed who was in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg South Carolina when she was 18.
They dated for 3 weeks and were wed on base June 4th 1955. Dale and Jean returned to Colorado to build their life and start a family. They had 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy. Dale and Jean brought their children up in Thornton CO, and moved to Platteville CO when the youngest was 6. They lived in Platteville for 49 years and 3 years ago moved to Greeley Place, an independent living facility for seniors in Greeley CO, where Dale currently resides.
Jean is preceded in death by her daughter Donna Masilotti Calendar (Dave Haney), and son Michael J. Reed (Bonnie Bellairs-Reed).
Her parents and 5 siblings.
Jean is survived by her husband Dale L. Reed of Greeley, Daughters Rhonda Robbins (Rich) of Cheyenne and
Tammy Valencia (Edward) of Johnstown, and daughter-in-law Bonnie Bellairs-Reed of Parker (Michael).
9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Kellie Plessinger(Jordan), Brandt Plessinger (Amy), Ayden & Penelope),
Billy Weber ( Trinidy), Skylea, and Casen), Travis Weber (Meredith), Ashton,Kellen & Maevery),
Justin Valencia (Tomisha), River, Drake & Remington), Jessica Edwards (David), Lilly, Adam, Calvin & Lewis),
Taylor Masilotti (Stella), Madison Vaughn (Alex), and Jacob Reed.
Services will be on August 10th 2024 11:00 a m. at First United Methodist Church, 316 Elizabeth Ave. Platteville, Co. 80651
A luncheon will be held in the basement after the services.
