Randolph “Randy” Mackey Williams, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend, and follower of Christ, went to be with the Lord at the age of 76 at home on July 29th, 2024. Surrounded by his family in his final moments, he was a man of wisdom, immense faith, and compassion, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. His unwavering spirit and passion for cultivating relationships and helping others will forever be remembered.

Born in Grangeville, Idaho to Bill and Marie Williams, Randy grew up as a country boy with his older brother, Remy, who he admired greatly.  He often told stories of playing outdoors near the Clearwater River and helping his uncles on the farm. After completing high school, Randy felt called to join the Catholic priesthood and began his discipleship at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon.  After some time in seminary school, it became clear to Randy that his heart desired a wife and children, and priesthood was not his vocation after all.

Randy was a soul searcher and a jack of all trades. Times of career exploration and vocational movement took him across the globe where he would gain special experiences and relationships. He was stationed in Germany during his service in the army, dabbled in carpentry with a love to build and create, and worked in Saudi Arabia for Morrison Knudsen after obtaining an accounting degree from Boise State University. While overseas, he took opportunities to visit other countries and cultures.  During his travels to Thailand, Randy met Niramol “Nui” Samarnpharb, the love of his life. Over conversations and exchanged letters, they fell in love. In March of 1980, they exchanged vows. Together, they built a life full of joyous hustle and bustle, raising their three girls: Jennifer Marie, Mary Elizabeth, and Amanda Clare.  Randy’s legacy is carried on by his adored grandchildren: Isaiah, Quinn, Amaya, Luke, Ellie, and Baby Blume on the way.  He treasured the time spent with his grandkids, and they especially loved launching model rockets and flying model airplanes with their Grandpa, “Khun Ta.”

While accounting was not the field Randy was destined for, he was hardworking and dedicated to his family.  He went on to work for the United States Postal Service and made lifelong friendships during the decades he was employed there.  After retirement, Randy’s insight, combined with a yearning for wisdom and a calling to help others, landed him with a second degree, a masters in counseling which he received from Northwest Nazarene University.  He provided therapy to an array of individuals and enjoyed contributing to various counseling board memberships. As a devout Catholic with a deep love for ministry, Randy was often be found at Sacred Heart Church. Whether it be attending mass, praying, volunteering, or supporting the Celebrate Recovery program, he always sought out ways to bring others to Jesus.  The bonds and companionships he made have been an abundant blessing.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Marie Williams, and his brother, Remy Williams. He is survived by his wife - Nui, his daughters - Jennifer and husband, Ben Driver, Mary and husband Luke Lott, and Amanda and husband Mitch Blume, and his grandchildren. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. They will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

A service to celebrate Randy’s life will be held on August, 9th at Sacred Heart Church at 11:30 AM.  Following the service, Randy will be laid to rest at Morris Hill Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Sacred Heart Church. A rosary and viewing will take place at 10:30 AM before the service.
