Arlene Miller
December 2nd, 1939 - August 14th, 2024
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Arlene Miller (née Scaggs), who was called to heaven on August 14, 2024, at the age of 84 in Port Charlotte, FL. Arlene was born on December 2, 1939, in Olive Hill, KY, and lived a life filled with love and joy. Arlene was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 50 years, James A. Miller. She leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished by her three children: Lowell Wayne (Trish) Miller, James Kevin (Tammy) Miller, and Charlene Gjerde. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, Brandon Miller, Bobby (Zoe) Myatt, Olivia Miller, Amanda (Alex) Howard, Eric Miller, Allyssa Gjerde, and Jay Edwards. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Camille Hensley, David Myatt, Sophia Howard, Meliah Edwards, Luke Myatt, and Liam Howard. Arlene is survived by her two sisters, Linda (Carl) Kegley and Jean Purnell, along with many nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly. A pillar of her family, Arlene cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She had a passion for fishing and enjoyed playing 500 rummy, often sharing these joys with her family members. Her kind heart and warm smile left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd., Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Family and friends are invited to gather on August 21, 2024, at 11 AM, with a ceremony to follow at 1 PM, to celebrate Arlene's life and bid her a peaceful farewell. Arlene Miller's legacy will live on through her family and the countless memories they created together. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
