James Burkhalter
July 29th, 1951 - August 23rd, 2024
James (Jim) Robert Burkhalter passed away on August 23, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born on July 29, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Robert and Mary Burkhalter. He was joined by two brothers, Mark in 1959 and Tom in 1962. He grew up in the Midwest and graduated from Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1969. He then moved to Colorado, and met the love of his life, Sharon in 1971. They married in 1976, and had two daughters, Krista in 1980 and Karla in 1983. He worked for King Soopers for almost 40 years.
He was very involved in his church, and served for many years. Besides his faith and his family, his biggest passion in life was baseball. He was a baseball expert and loved attending any baseball game he could.
He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Tom Burkhalter.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, daughters Krista (Jason) Stocker, Karla (Kevin) Morgan, his four grandchildren Isabella, Jaina, Abbey, and Jake, his brother Mark (Paulette) Burkhalter, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, September 10, at 1:00 at Grace Church of Arvada, located at 6969 Sheridan Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Forge Christian High School or Grace Church of Arvada.
