Vera Duboff

Vera Duboff passed away on July 12, 2024. The Duboff family honors her for her infectious smile, beautiful heart, and love for her family. Vera will be remembered for the sparkle in her eye, her humor, and brilliance. She was one of a kind and so very loved.

Born in the Bronx of New York City, Vera was born to parents Michael and Sarah Maysel on New Year's Eve, December 31, 1932. In 1950 she graduated from James Monroe High School. She then began working as a bank teller -a career path she would stick with her whole life. Vera has been described as a brilliant, diligent, and a natural born problem solver.

In 1969, Vera married the love her life, Samuel Leon Duboff. It was shortly after they announced the birth of their cherished son, Michael Steven Duboff in 1971, and following this their precious daughter Debra Mindy Duboff in 1973. Family was everything to Vera, and Vera was everything to her family.

In 1999, Vera and Lee relocated to Las Vegas to retire from Lynbrook New York where she raised her family with Lee.

In January of 2013, Vera lost the love of her life Samuel Leon Duboff. She bravely carried on. In Vera's life she had an incredible love for her animals. One of the Duboff's most cherished pets was a Border Collie by the name of Astro, Vera shared her love of animals with her children. Her last animal was Ernie, a red Abyssinian cat who became her shadow, following her everywhere. They were inseparable. Wherever you found Vera, Ernie was right by her side.

On the morning of July 12, 2024, Vera lost her battle to COPD. A battle she had fought with grace, dignity and courage. She is our hero. Vera's ashes were buried in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. She will be forever and dearly missed. "May the memory of the righteous be a blessing.”

Vera is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Sarah Maysel; husband Leon Duboff; siblings, Boris and Lydia, brother-in-law, Murray Duboff and nephew in law Charlie Guiardina. Vera is survived by her children, Michael Steven Duboff and Debra Mindy Rosen; granddaughter, Sarah Hannah Rosen; Sheryl Demedio, and her husband, Joe Demedio; niece, Rhonda Guiardina and grandnephews, Chad and Matthew; daughter- in- law, Dana Leigh Mathews; and Vera's beloved cat of 22 years Ernie.
