Mementos

Cherished Mother of 4, Grandmother of 25, Great Grandmother of 37 and Great Great Grandmother of 5 passed away on 9/17/2024 of age-related causes. 

 

Born in Belleville Arkansas to William and Jewell Patterson. Ila attended Long Beach City College. 

 

On a blind date set up by one of her brothers Ila met her one and only soul mate, John M Simmons and they shared a 62-year marriage until his passing in 2020. Together they shared a love of hunting, fishing, camping, U of O sports, Mariner baseball and Seahawks football. She also enjoyed beading jewelry.

 

Her greatest joy was watching and nurturing her many Grandchildren.

 

Ila is survived by daughter Carol (Terry) Smith, sons Mike (Tina) and Jim (Debbi) Simmons and son in law Vic Parker, Sister Carole and brother Mike. 

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sharon Parker and several siblings.

 

There will be a Funeral Service on September 27, 2024 at 10am in the Lane Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with internment to follow at Lane Memorial Gardens.
