Mr. John D. Henry Jr. was born to Mr. John Henry and Mrs. Emma's Family in Brownfield, Texas. Later, the family moved from Texas to Denver where he received his formal education and graduated from Manuel High School. After high school, his ambitions directed him to join the U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy with an honorable discharge, he worked different jobs until he found his niche, working with the City & County of Denver as an Equipment Operator for 15 years.

Later in his life, he professed his faith in Christ and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church. John loved playing with his great-grandchildren and playing dominoes with his friends who would often leave “red-faced”, and outdone.

Wednesday, September 12th, John Henry was called home and into glory to be with the the Lord. His physical presence will always be missed but his impact and memory will never be forgotten.

John was preceded in death by his father and mother and eight of his siblings.

He is survived by Claudia Tucker of Dallas (TX), one daughter Vonda Henry, Denver (Colorado), Steven Henry (NJ), Adrian Henry, San Bernardino (California), 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
