It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Tony) Stokes Apsey Jr. on September 22, 2024 in Melbourne, FL.
Robert was born April 27, 1935 in Boston, MA.
The son of Bob and Dorothy Apsey and brother to Mark Apsey, Robert grew up in Winchester, MA, frequently playing tennis there. He served in the United States Army during the Korean war and then graduated from Tufts University. He worked for IBM for the rest of his career as a salesman and systems engineer. He retired to Siesta Key and was a regular at many establishments but none better than the "Corkscrew Deli".
Robert is survived by his four children Robert, Stuart , Karen and Amy along with his 10 grandchildren and 6 great grand children; Robert is also survived by his long
term significant other, Ferne Rubin.
Robert was a real "nice guy". He got along with everyone and was a care giver to many. He didn't have a bad word to say about anyone and was always willing to help all he knew. His wisdom, stories and kind spirit will be missed.
Please join us October 11, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241 to celebrate his life. A memorial gathering will follow the service at the cemetery.
