Bobbi grew up in Oxnard, California, and moved to Chico to attend Chico State in 1991, where she earned her liberal arts degree and teaching credential in 1994. She began her teaching career at Los Molinos Elementary School and soon after moved to Burchfield Elementary in Colusa, where she dedicated 23 years to teaching kindergarten and first grade. Bobbi was cherished by her students and colleagues alike.
Active in the Rainbow Girls organization while her daughters were growing up, Bobbi was known for her smile, courage, and unwavering love for her family and her dog, Odie. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter, her parents Bob and Arlene, and her sister K.K.
Bobbi is survived by her children and granddaughter: Hannah (Skyelar), Bailee, Shane, and little Nora, all of Chico. She also leaves behind her sisters, Robyn Bell of Bakersfield and Sharon Johnston of Upton, WY, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Little Nora, who affectionately called her Mimi, brought immense joy to Bobbi’s life.
A celebration of Bobbi’s life will be held on Sunday, October 20th, at Lassen Gardens Venue in Vina, CA. Flowers may be ordered through Flowers by Rachelle, and delivered to Brusie Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may also be made to the Alpha-1 Foundation.
Bobbi’s legacy of love, dedication, and resilience will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
