Elizabeth "Betty" Rowe 

Betty Rowe passed away in the comforting presence of her sister on September 28th at the age of 81. She was born June 23rd, 1943 to Ernest and Esther Sjodin in Duluth, MN.

 

Betty attended Proctor High School where she loved being a part of the traveling marching band, and graduated from the University of Minnesota with her degree in physical therapy. She actively practiced as a physical therapist in the Twin Ports area for over thirty years, co-founding the Young Women's Arthritis Group. Through that group and her ongoing work with many Arthritis Foundation events, Betty provided life-changing support for countless members of her community. For her contributions, she was awarded multiple accolades from the Arthritis Foundation. 

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rick Sjodin; and sister, Janice Rysman.She is survived by her husband, Dick; her son Brian (Cynthia) Rowe of Minneapolis, MN; her sister Judy (Ray) Wiles of Cloquet, MN; and many nieces and nephews. 

Betty's immediate family will remember and celebrate her life in a private service at Atkins-Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet, MN.
