(Dennis) Joe Dedic, a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend, passed away surrounded by family at his home in Ripon, CA, on October 14th, 2024. He was born on August 26, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Joseph and Lucille (Brubaker) Dedic. Joe was a shining example of hard work. He was known and loved by many for his willingness to lend a hand to friends and family.

 

A proud graduate of North Tama High School in Traer, Iowa, Joe joined the Navy in 1968, serving four years and continuing with combined active and reserve service until 2004. He served in both the Vietnam War and the first Desert Storm, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country.

 

In 1972, Joe began a distinguished career at the East Bay Municipal Utilities District (EBMUD), where he held various positions over 32 years, ultimately retiring as the Occupational Health and Safety Administrator. His commitment to safety and service earned him deep respect.

 

Dennis Joe is preceded in death by his cherished son, Dale Dedic. He is survived by his wife, Toni (Woitt–Dayak) Dedic of Ripon, CA; his son Douglas Dedic (Hollie) and their children, Bryson and Hayden Dedic of Jackson, CA. He is also survived by his stepsons, Troy Dayak (Karen) and their children Adaurie (Kody) Stemshorn, TJ (Maddie) Dayak of Tracy, CA, and Tanner Dayak and his children, Tanea and Taylen of Ripon, CA.

 

Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering support for others and his strong work ethic. His legacy of kindness and service will be cherished by all who knew him.

 

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life on Monday, October 28, 2024, 1:00 PM at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson, CA.
